The challenge

This case study features the Radisson Beach Resort Dubai, an iconic 389-room hotel with premium facilities, including on-site dining, two swimming pools, a spa and a gym. The hotel wanted to reduce its energy consumption and lower its environmental impact, in line with its sustainability and environmental policies.

Our solution

To support these objectives, OH4 energy-saving technology was installed on the resort’s closed-loop swimming pool cooling plant. A system that was working continuously throughout the day. The installation was carried out on one of the swimming pools as an initial demonstration to assess the performance and energy-saving potential of the OH4 technology.

The technology was installed on 1 October 2025, with performance data collected through to 31 December 2025. This data was compared with the same period in 2024 to evaluate changes in energy usage and operating costs.

The challenge

A commercial landlord with a strong focus on carbon reduction wanted to lower the energy consumption of one of their industrial units in Indian Queens, Cornwall.

The property was heated by a 30kW combi boiler supplying a radiator system for office use during working hours. Although the unit’s gas demand was relatively modest, the landlord’s broader aim was to cut carbon emissions across their entire estate.

Prior to the OH4 installation, the site consumed 10,507 kWh of gas annually, producing 1.9 tonnes of CO₂ and costing £735 per year. The challenge was finding a simple and cost-effective way to cut energy usage without replacing existing equipment.

Our solution

In May 2024, OH4 Energy Saving Technology was installed at the industrial unit.

  • Installation cost: £350 + VAT
  • Fitted in less than one hour
  • No downtime or disruption to the heating or hot water system

Before installation, a 15% reduction in gas usage was projected and guaranteed at least 10%.

The results

The system’s impact was tracked using monthly meter readings adjusted for degree days to provide a fair, weather-independent comparison.

Between May 2024 and May 2025, the industrial unit achieved:

  • 16% reduction in kWh per degree day
  • £117.60 annual saving on heating costs
  • 0.4 tonnes of carbon saved 
  • 33.6% return on investment within the first year

The outcome demonstrates that OH4 delivers meaningful savings even for smaller commercial sites, helping landlords achieve both financial savings and measurable carbon reductions.

The challenge

A large care home group operating multiple homes in the South West faced a significant operational challenge: high heating and hot water costs.

At one of their homes, annual heating spend reached £9,858. With rising energy prices and increasing pressure to reduce carbon emissions, the group needed a reliable, non-disruptive way to cut energy consumption while maintaining the warm and comfortable environment that residents rely on.

The client wanted a solution that could deliver measurable savings without compromising resident care, and that would also support their wider sustainability goals.

Our solution

In April 2024, Eden Energy Partners installed the OH4 Energy Saving Technology at one of the group’s care homes as a proof of concept.

  • Installation was completed quickly, with no downtime or disruption to residents
  • The commercial agreement allowed the system to be paid for entirely from first-year savings, with the client committing only 50% of verified savings for 12 months

Before installation, OH4 projected a 15–20% reduction in gas usage. The care home group were assured that installation costs would be covered entirely from the first year’s savings.

The results

Performance was monitored using monthly meter readings adjusted for degree days and occupancy levels, ensuring a fair comparison year on year.

The challenge

The Devon Chamber of Commerce offices in Plymouth are housed in a late 20th-century single-storey building, heated and supplied with hot water by a 60kW gas boiler connected to radiators and a hot water tank.

Prior to the installation of OH4, the Chamber’s annual gas consumption was 30,952 kWh, costing £2,600 per year and producing 5.6 tonnes of carbon emissions.

As part of their commitment to sustainability and their wider net zero strategy, the Chamber were keen to find a cost-effective way to reduce both energy usage and carbon output without needing to replace their existing boiler system.

Our solution

Following a short visit, the installation of OH4 Energy Saving Technology was recommended.

  • OH4 was installed in the plant room at a cost of £700 + VAT
  • The installation required no downtime and was completed in just one hour
  • No disruption was caused to staff or operations, as only plant room access was needed

An energy savings guarantee was also provided: the Chamber were assured that OH4 would deliver at least a 10% saving on heating costs compared to the previous year.

The results

Since installation in April 2024, energy data has been closely monitored using monthly meter readings adjusted for degree days to account for weather variations.

The challenge

Heating and hot water are among the biggest energy costs for large residential properties. At Dingley Dell, two 30kW gas boilers, one serving the main residence and another dedicated to the swimming pool, were responsible for a significant share of overall running costs.

Like many property owners, the team at Dingley Dell wanted to reduce reliance on expensive gas consumption, lower emissions, and future-proof against rising energy prices.

Our solution

In September 2024, OH4 Energy Saving Technology was installed at Dingley Dell. The installation included:

  • 50cm of OH4 applied to the pipework of the 30kW boiler serving the main residence
  • A further 50cm fitted to the pipework of the 30kW boiler dedicated to the swimming pool

The installation was completed in just one day, with no downtime. Residents and facilities continued as normal while the system was fitted.

To ensure results were measured accurately, gas usage was tracked through smart meter data across full billing cycles. Degree day adjustments were applied to account for weather differences, eliminating bias and creating a fair comparison.

The results

The impact of OH4 at Dingley Dell has been significant.

The challenge

The Georgian House Hotel is a collection of historic buildings brought together into a beautiful boutique hotel. Located centrally within London, they provide a launchpad to all that the city provides. The hotel offers a unique and authentic experience to their guests and the owners are keen to engage with renewable technology to provide environmental benefits and to reduce the operating cost of the hotel.

As a historic building that has evolved over time, the property operates on a combination of gas boilers, which are tucked away in basements and broom cupboards to provide heating and hot water facilities. The client’s current annual spend on heating and hot water was in the region of £40,000 which represented a significant cost and effect on operational expense.

In line with their sustainability and cost reduction targets, they were keen to explore OH4 Energy Saving Technology (OH4) as a potential solution that didn’t require extensive investment in new equipment.

Our solution

After a short site visit, it was agreed that OH4 be installed at the premises with a guarantee that the installation cost would not exceed the year one saving. With no need for any downtime on the heating and hot water system, and access only required in the plant rooms, it was shown that there would be no disruption to hotel operations. 

OH4 was fitted in the 5 plant rooms on 3 30KW boilers, a 100KW boiler and a 60KW boiler two additional 30KW boilers were fitted in apartments serviced by the hotel but located away from the main site. The installation took place in October 2024 taking a total of 3 hours.

The results

Based on the data collected between October 2024 and January 2025 the hotel has seen a reduction in KWh per degree day per guest of 23%, representing a projected saving of £9,200 over a year. However, in addition to this, the hotel has opened additional rooms and has seen a significant increase in guest numbers. Taking this into account, the savings are 27% and £10,800 respectively.

The challenge

The Priest House Hotel is a historic hotel building located close to East Midlands Airport within beautiful surroundings, offering excellent dining facilities. The hotel operators are keen to engage with renewable technology to provide environmental benefits, and to reduce the operating cost of the hotel.

As a historic building in a rural area, the property operates on a combination of LPG and oil to provide heating and cooking facilities. The client’s current annual spend on heating and hot water was in the region of £50,000, which represented a significant cost. In line with their sustainability and cost reduction targets, they were keen to explore OH4 Energy Saving Technology (OH4) as a potential solution that didn’t require extensive investment in new equipment.

Our solution

After a short site visit, it was agreed that OH4 be installed at the premises with a guarantee that the installation cost would not exceed the year one saving. With no need for any downtime on the heating and hot water system, and access only required in the plant rooms, it was shown that there would be no disruption to hotel and spa operations. 

OH4 was fitted in the 3 plant rooms in July 2024 with the installation taking a total of 2.5 hours.

The results

Based on the data collected between August 2024 and December 2024 the hotel has seen a reduction in litres per degree day per guest of 21% representing a saving of £10,500 over a year.

The Client has now engaged OH4 to assess the other buildings in their estate.

The challenge

The Headland Hotel is an iconic Cornwall hotel renowned for its luxurious accommodation, food and spa facilities. The team are well known for their innovative approach to environmental sustainability and social governance supporting youth in the Cornwall area.

The client’s current annual spend on heating and hot water was £380,883, presenting a significant operational expense. They were eager to identify ways to decrease energy consumption while maintaining the high standards and luxury service their guests expect. In line with their sustainability and cost reduction targets, they were keen to explore OH4 Energy Saving Technology (OH4) as a potential solution.

Our solution

After a short site visit, it was agreed that OH4 be installed at the premises with a guarantee that the installation cost would not exceed the year one saving. With no need for any downtime on the heating and hot water system, and access only required in the plant rooms, it was shown that there would be no disruption to hotel and spa operations.

It was agreed that OH4 would work around lettings for the smaller installations to the 40 separate holiday cottages with 20 installations fitted in April 2024 and the remainder to be fitted in November 2024.

The Results

The hotel has reduced its rate paid for gas, meaning that the amount that would have been paid last year at the current rate is now £216,768. In addition to this OH4 Energy Saving Technology has shown a reduction in fuel usage on a KWh per degree day per guest of 19% across the site (with 20 cottages still to be fitted). The saving in 6 months has been £23,779 in 6 months at the current rate being paid. Estimated saving for the whole year is £54,191

Under our current charging model this would be charged at £43,350 payable £1806.40 per month for 12 months and £903.20 per month for a further 24 months based on a projected saving of 20%.

The hotel operators are highly respected in the hospitality sector for their forward-thinking approach to environmental sustainability and are aiming to be the net zero holiday destination of choice.

Our solution

After initial consultations, it was agreed that OH4 be installed at the premises with a guarantee that the installation cost would not exceed the first year’s saving.

With the hotel enjoying a constant flow of guests and visitors, it was business critical that the installation of OH4 did not have an impact on the hotel and spa operations. With the unique nature of OH4 and the fact that the hotel did not have to turn off their heating system, the installation was seamless and had no impact on the hotel or its guests and visitors.

In addition to the main hotel building, it has been agreed that OH4 will work around lettings for the smaller installations to the 20 separate holiday cottages with 20 installations fitted in May 2024 and hot tubs fitted with OH4 in July 2024.

The results

The savings achieved on a KWh per degree day per guest basis in the 6 months since fitting OH4 is 12.61% representing a saving of £5,359.25 in the 6-month period. However, we later identified that their pool had been set to a higher temperature, increasing their gas usage. If we factor in the increase in temperature on the pool the actual savings are over 29%, and representing a saving of £12,325 in 6 months, making the estimated annual saving £24,750. 

Under our current charging model this would be charged at £17,000 payable £708.33 per month for 12 months and £354.17 per month for a further 24 months based on a projected saving of 20%.
